Viral video: A cow brutally attacked a nine-year-old girl as she was making her way home from school in a shocking incident. The unsettling event, which was caught on CCTV, took place on Ilango Street in the MMDA colony area of Chennai.
CCTV footage reveals terrifying attack
The video which was captured on CCTV camera showcased a young girl named Ayesha who was returning from school along with her mother and 5 years old brother. But in a blink of eye, the video showcases a distressing incident where the girl was being attacked and mauled by the cow.
As the incident took place, mother starting screaming and crying for help which caught the attention of the residents of the colony. People came in for help and started scaring off the cow to prevent any additional risk. The footage shows the cow lifting the girl with his horns and throwing her away again and again. The girl suffered severe head injuries and was taken to the hospital for further medical treatment.
Owner arrested, Legal action taken
Girl’s mother filed a complaint against the attack and 26 years old owner was held arrested and was charged that he was taking proper care of the animals and left them to roam around freely.
J Radhakrishnan, Additional Chief Secretary/Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner paid his visit to the girl who suffered severe injuries and made sure the girl was getting a proper treatment and medication. He also expressed his disappointment and mentioned that the owner has been fined RS 25000 and the cow has been taken in cattle shed for further monitoring.
