Viral Video: A bus conductor was suspended by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) on Tuesday following the viral social media video of him abusing a female passenger.
Altercation Between Passenger and Conductor
The event happened early on Tuesday while a woman was riding the BMTC bus from Shivajinagar to Bilekalli. The conductor allegedly struck the passenger, who was from another state, after they got into a verbal argument about the ticket. The woman was assaulted by the conductor after a heated debate that was captured on camera and went viral.
Passenger Files Complaint at Siddapur Police Station
Later on in the case, the female passenger lodged a complaint at the Siddapur police station. The conductor has been suspended, according to a statement released by the BMTC. “Based on the said social media news, disciplinary action has been reserved against Mr Honnappa Nagappa Agasar, Conductor, with immediate effect ‘suspended’,” the BMTC’s official release read.
