Viral Video: In the heart of rural Uttar Pradesh, a locked school gate became the stage for heartbreak. Children wept, clung to the iron bars, and begged to stay, refusing to leave the only school they've ever known.
In Rudrapur Bhaluhi of Maharajganj, a sudden school merger left classrooms empty and young hearts shattered. The emotional moment, captured in a viral video, shows children pleading, "Madam ji, yahi padhenge…," as they face an uncertain future.
Schools in rural areas often fail to follow secure and structured guidelines. A recent report by News24 highlighted a heartbreaking scene in Rudrapur Bhaluhi, Maharajganj, where young children were seen crying inconsolably, clinging to the school gate after discovering it had been shut down. The primary school in Rudrapur Bhaluhi was merged with the Karnauti school, located one kilometre away.

Unaware of the change, the children arrived to find the gates locked and classrooms empty, leaving them confused and distressed. The sudden change left children desperate. They cried, "Madam ji, yahi padhenge, kahin nahi jayenge." A differently‑abled girl wailed, "Main ab school nahi ja paungi." Their old school had working solar lights, but Karnauti campus has no lights after dusk.
Parents and teachers warned that the new school lacks toilets, ramps, and a playground. Teachers Amrita Rai and Reena Sharma expressed deep concern over the abrupt merger.
This abrupt merger raises serious questions over student welfare and local planning. Authorities moved the school despite broken toilets and no ramps for differently-abled students. Similar anger flared in Bihar's Bagaha, where shifting students lost midday meal benefits and walking distances soared.
Such cases show that closing small schools without ready replacements harms attendance and learning. In both scenarios, parents demand repairs and transport before any merger. Citizens now ask: must convenience override children's basic needs and safety?
Netizens reacted in unison after watching the viral video. "Gungi behri sarkar ko kya ab media jagayega? Sarkar ko bachchon ke liye free bus service ki suvidha uplabdh karani chahiye," one user urged. Another wrote, "@princekmr560 Ram rajya me ye sab ho rha h," showing disbelief. One commented, "Yogi, Modi aur BJP wale na khud padhe hain, na padhne denge," blaming leadership
A critic asked, "How long will the government keep coming to power without votes? One day, all this hooliganism will be exposed," hinting at unrest. "Yogi ji, aisa kya ho gaya jo school band kar rahe hain? Arey, chalne dijiye,” a viewer added with disappointment. Each reaction fueled demands for policy reversal and student support.
Parents and teachers demand urgent facility upgrades before any more mergers. Children deserve safe, nearby schools with full support. Authorities must listen to their heartfelt plea.
