Viral Video: Four members of a gang that had blocked a car headed for Kerala on the Salem–Kochi highway early on Friday attempted to use weapons to attack three of the passengers, according to an arrest made by the Coimbatore District Police on Sunday. Video has been viral on Social Media.

Identification of Suspects

According to V. Badrinarayanan, the district superintendent of police for Coimbatore, the police have also identified four additional suspects in the event. K. Sivadas, 29, Ramesh Babu, 27, M. Vishnu, 28, and M. Ajay, 24, all of Chittur, are the people who have been detained. The districts of Palakkad and Kerala have both locations.

Aslam Siddique, 27, of Ernakulam, was the complaint. The attackers, according to the police, pursued his car in three different vehicles and used weapons to attack it 200 metres before a toll plaza close to Madukkarai. Siddique's car was being waylaid by the attackers, but he and two of his pals were able to escape quickly enough to smash the doors of the car.

Military Involvement

On X (Foramlly Twitter) 'ghar ka kalesh' shared videos of the attackers pursuing and assaulting Siddique's car that were taken by the dash and back cameras. According to the police, Siddique's attackers abandoned their pursuit of him as soon as he arrived at the toll plaza. After crossing the plaza, Siddique and his friends told the highway police about what had happened. “It was found that the accused had received an information that the targeted car was carrying unaccounted cash. However, the information seemed to have been wrong,” said Badrinarayanan.

There was no unaccounted cash in Siddique's automobile, according to the police. It was discovered that Siddique, an advertising professional, was on his way back from Bengaluru after making purchases of peripherals and PCs. The police confiscated the three cars that the group was using in addition to detaining the four men from their hometown.

On April 4, Vishnu, who was in the Army, returned home for a leave of absence. Nevertheless, the authorities claimed that he did not go back to his posting center following the holidays. “The remaining accused in the case will be nabbed soon,” the SP said.
