Bulandshahr Viral Video: ‘My Name Is Sophie…’ Boy From Uttar Pradesh Makes AI Teacher Robot, Tests Her Knowlegde – WATCH

A 17-year-old student from Bulandshahr has gone viral after building an AI teacher robot named Sophie, which can answer classroom questions with ease.

Bulandshahr Viral Video: A 17-year-old boy from Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr has grabbed the internet’s attention after creating an AI-powered teacher robot named Sophie. The student (Aditya Kumar) studies in Class 12 at Shiv Charan Inter College. His invention went viral after a video of Sophie “teaching” inside a real classroom started circulating online.

Bulandshahr Viral Video: College Boy Makes AI Teacher

In the clip shared by ANI, Sophie stands in front of the class and introduces herself. The robot says, “I am an AI teacher robot. My name is Sophie, and I was invented by Aditya. I teach at Shivcharan Inter College, Bulandshahr. Children, do you want to know anything from me?”

Students gather around as Aditya asks her simple questions to test her knowledge.

When he asks Sophie who India’s first President was, she answers without delay: Dr Rajendra Prasad. She also gets the next one right and says the first Prime Minister was Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The quick responses impress the class, and the video soon spreads across social media.

Aditya later spoke to ANI about how he built her. He said, “I have used an LLM chipset to build this robot, which is also used by big companies that make robots. It can clear students’ doubts. For now, she can only speak, but we are designing it so it can write as well soon. There should be a lab in every district so students can come there and do research.”

How Netizens Reacted To Bulandshahr Viral Video

As the video gained attention, reactions online came in from all sides. Many people praised Aditya for his talent and effort at such a young age. However, many others were not surprised.

Read some online user reactions below:

“Effort is what we need. Way to go!  Appreciate the work which this 17 years old guy did.”

“Will this AI robot Teacher also get salary ?”

“Ok.. but what I feel: Basically you put ChatGPT inside a mannequin you take out of a shop and whenever you ask you get answered. I appreciate the young man’s thinking but wouldn’t it be more convincing had it got motions, like moving your hands during speeches or something?”

“This is literally ChatGPT inside a doll, nothing more.”

“I don’t want to discourage the young student. But this is very far from a robot.”

“It’s a good start, but India needs a lot better robotic interface , this is a just a doll fitted with a voice LLM. Without movements and expression, it won’t help a lot”

“Only in India will someone create AI by stuffing ChatGPT in a plastic Gori doll and proudly name her Sophie. Bro, what’s this colonial hangover? Was Kalpana, Pratiksha, or Bharti on vacation?”

“That’s a fantastic achievement at the age of 17.”

Can AI Replace Teachers In Future?

AI tools are growing fast, but experts say they cannot replace teachers anytime soon. A UNESCO report from 2023 found that more than 90% of teachers believe students still need human guidance. AI can help with grading, assessments and personalised learning. But emotional support, motivation and classroom handling are things only humans can provide.

A study by McKinsey found that AI may automate 20–30% of a teacher’s routine tasks. But the key roles of teaching (guiding students, building confidence and creating trust) cannot be automated.
