Dalai Lama Under Controversy for Kissing Minor Boy

A video of the Dalai Lama kissing a child on the lips and then asking him to “suck his tongue” has sparked controversy. In the video viral on social media, it can be seen that when the child bowed down to pay respect to the spiritual leader. After the video surfaced, there are very strong reactions on social media.

The Buddhist monk is seen sticking out his tongue as he asked the child to suck it. “Can you suck my tongue,” he is heard asking the minor boy in the video. After the video, people are giving angry reactions on social media.

Twitter user JostBrokers shared the video, writing, “So Dalai Lama kissing an Indian boy at a Buddhist event and even trying to touch his tongue. He actually says “Suck my tongue. But why is he doing this?”

The Dalai Lama sparked a major controversy in 2019 by saying that if his successor were to be a woman, she should be “attractive”. This comment of Dalai Lama was criticized all over the world. He later apologized for his controversial comments.

Beijing accuses the Dalai Lama of fomenting separatism in Tibet and does not recognize the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), which represents some 100,000 exiled Tibetans living in around 30 countries, including India, Nepal, Canada and the US .
