Odisha Viral Video: Man Digs Up Grave To Prove Sister’s Death Before Apathetic Bank Officials! Netizens Shocked, India Shamed

Odisha Viral Video: India talks about digital banking and financial inclusion, yet stories like this expose the ground reality. This is not just a procedural lapse, it is systemic neglect. Reforms are meaningless if empathy is missing.

Odisha Viral Video: In a shocking incident that has sparked nationwide outrage, Jeetu Munda of Dianali village, a tribal man in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, brought the skeleton of his dead sister Kalara. Social media users were outraged to see the turn of events. Many commented that such heartless bank officials must be immediately sacked while some commented that it is a big shame for India.

Odisha Viral Video-Turn Of Events

In the now viral video, Jeetu could be seen carrying the skeleton of his sister Kalara, frustrated and unaware of the legal process. The man decided to walk with the skeleton of his sister after apathetic bank officials repeatedly told him to bring the accountholder in person. This was despite Jeetu repeatedly telling them that his sister passed away.

Jeetu visited the Odisha Gramya Bank, Malisahi branch and placed his sister’s skeleton in front of the bank premises. The bizarre act drew immediate attention of the local residents and authorities. Members of Patna Police rushed immediately to the spot and took the remains back for reburial in Dianali village.

The 50-year-old Jeetu was trying to withdraw a sum of Rs. 19,300 from the account of his late sister. Kalara had expired on January 26, 2026.

Reactions From Authorities

Local Block Development Officer (BDO) Manas Dandpat said he was unaware of the matter and would help in resolving the matter at the earliest. Patna police station inspector in charge (IIC) Kiran Prasad Sahu remarked that bank officials should have better helped the illiterate tribal man.

Social Media Comments

A user commented, “This incident from Odisha is beyond disturbing and exposes the sheer insensitivity embedded in parts of India’s banking system. A man had to dig up his sister’s grave just to prove she was dead, what kind of system forces someone into such trauma? Bank officials refusing to acknowledge repeated explanations shows a complete lack of humanity. This is not just bureaucratic failure, it’s moral failure.”

Another commented, “It is shocking that for a small amount of Rs. 19,300, a grieving brother had to go to such extreme lengths. The system is supposed to serve people, not dehumanize them. How can officials ignore a person’s plea and insist on impossible requirements? This reflects a deeply flawed and apathetic institutional culture.”

A user wrote, “This case shows how rigid bureaucracy can turn into outright injustice. Instead of guiding the man through proper legal procedures, officials chose the easiest path of refusal. The result was a horrifying act that could have been avoided entirely. Accountability must be demanded from those responsible.”

Another user said, “India talks about digital banking and financial inclusion, yet stories like this expose the ground reality. A tribal man had to carry his sister’s remains because officials wouldn’t listen. This is not just a procedural lapse, it is systemic neglect. Reforms are meaningless if empathy is missing.”
