A late-night patrol in Patna turned deadly when a high-speed Scorpio SUV rammed into police officers conducting checks on Atal Path. The brutal crash killed a woman constable on the spot and left two others critically injured. Chilling CCTV footage has since gone viral, capturing the shocking moment.
The incident happened under SK Puri police station limits just past midnight. The SUV, reportedly coming from the Digha side at around 90 km/h, slammed into the officers standing by the road. The impact was so strong that all three officers were thrown several metres away from where they were posted.
The deceased officer has been identified as Komal, a constable from Nalanda. She was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead shortly after. The two injured, Sub-Inspector Deepak Kumar and Assistant Sub-Inspector Awadhesh, are currently in critical condition and undergoing treatment.
The three were part of a routine vehicle checking drive being held from 10:30 PM to 12:30 AM across Bihar. The crash happened just as they were inspecting another Scorpio that had been stopped at the checkpoint.

The entire crash was caught on CCTV. The video shows the police team mid-check when the speeding Scorpio comes out of nowhere and hits them with full force. The disturbing footage has been widely shared online, sparking outrage and concern over police safety.
Senior Superintendent of Police Avakash Kumar visited the site soon after and confirmed what had happened. He said, “Three officers were injured when a speeding Scorpio hit a car being checked at a barricade.”
Two people have been detained for questioning. However, the driver of the Scorpio that caused the crash is still on the run. Kumar added, “The driver is absconding. We’ve launched multiple raids to nab him.”
SSP Kumar has called it a serious offence and said that strong legal action will be taken. He promised, “The accused will be traced, and we will ensure legal punishment.”
The case has once again raised questions about the safety of police officers during night patrols and roadside checks. With poor lighting, minimal protection, and speeding vehicles, officers remain vulnerable on the job.
