In a shocking display of social media obsession, a youth from Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district risked his life by lying down on a railway track just to shoot a reel. The video, which has now gone viral, shows Ranjeet Chaurasia, a resident of the district, calmly placing his phone beside him on the track and lying down flat as an entire train passes over him. Miraculously, he survives unscathed — but not without consequences.

Ranjeet's daredevil stunt was captured on camera and posted on social media platforms, garnering massive views and reactions. However, what he probably didn’t anticipate was the legal aftermath. As soon as the video surfaced and began gaining traction online, the authorities took note. Unnao Police promptly identified the individual and arrested him for his dangerous act. An official said that a case has been registered against him, and he has been sent to jail under appropriate charges for endangering public safety.
This incident adds to a growing number of alarming stunts performed for internet fame. Experts have consistently warned against such life-threatening acts, but the lure of going viral seems to overpower logic and safety. Officials have urged parents and communities to counsel youth against engaging in such behavior and have appealed to social media platforms to monitor such content.
The internet was quick to react, with many users slamming the youth for his reckless behavior. One user sarcastically wrote, “Reel banate banate real jail chala gaya bhai,” while another commented, “Next time try lying under a moving plane, maybe that’ll get more likes.” Some, however, expressed concern over the mental health and social media addiction plaguing young minds today.
While Ranjeet may have survived his stunt, he now finds himself behind bars — a stark reminder that chasing clout can have very real consequences.
