A video circulating online depicts a group of villagers in Madhya Pradesh's Dewas district engaging with a leopard. The incident occurred when the leopard was discovered near the Kali Sindh river one afternoon. Crowds of villagers gathered to observe the animal. The footage that has gained significant attention online portrays the leopard as lethargic and struggling to move comfortably.
Initially, the villagers were apprehensive about the presence of the leopard. However, as the animal displayed no signs of aggression, some villagers began to interact with it. The situation escalated to the point where individuals took photos, videos, and even selfies with the leopard. Astonishingly, a few villagers even rode on the back of the leopard.

Subsequently, representatives from the forest department arrived at the scene, accompanied by a rescue team from Ujjain. Together with the Dewas Forest Department staff, they successfully rescued the leopard. The Sub Divisional Officer, Santosh Shukla, noted that the leopard did not exhibit any visible injuries. Nonetheless, he hypothesized that the leopard might be unwell or could have consumed an excessive amount of food.
The rescued leopard was placed under the care of a veterinary doctor at the Daulatpur Rest House for the night. Plans are underway to transfer the leopard to the Indore Zoo for medical attention. Once the leopard regains its health, it will be released back into its natural habitat.
