Another elder’s irresponsible behaviour is being criticized on the internet. A viral video shows a minor driving a scooter on the main road without worry and, most importantly, without a helmet. This makes netizens question who gave them the key.
It seems that no amount of social and traffic awareness campaigns is enough. Parents are primarily responsible for keeping their children safe and stopping them from dangerous activities.
Uttarakhand Police posted this viral video on the X handle on May 23, 2025. In it, you can see two boys, roughly around the age of 8 to 10, riding on a scooter on the busy, high-traffic main road!

The caption of this viral video is significant enough. The Uttarakhand police itself asks us, “गलती किसकी…???”. It shows the helplessness of the police as it is not possible for them to check every nook and corner, stating, “पुलिस केवल समझा और चालान काट सकती है”.
The elders are responsible for following traffic rules and keeping their children from succumbing to tantrums. Who gave the child the scooter key, and who would be accountable if anything unfortunate happened? Netizens are asking such questions.
Parenting is getting more difficult as more children are getting digital exposure. So, teaching them what is wrong, what is dangerous, and what is doable often seems a challenge to them.
To counter this issue, parents can be firm in establishing safety rules. Moreover, they need to curb their children’s unnecessary demands, especially those from peer pressure. Also, good communication with your child can resolve many such issues.
Your child is the ultimate future of the world. Hence, normalizing such irresponsible behaviour can thus put extra pressure on traffic safety and healthy coexistence.
As the clip continues to circulate, people are showing discontentment. Elders need to take matters into their own hands when it comes to their children’s safety.
