News of the free haleem quickly spread, leading to a large crowd gathering outside the restaurant, "Aazebo." The situation escalated as hundreds of people flocked to the location, causing a near stampede and significant traffic congestion.
Faced with the uncontrollable crowd, the restaurant management sought help from the authorities. As seen in a video shared by PTI, the police resorted to using lathis (batons) to disperse the gathered masses.
This incident highlights the potential dangers of distributing free food without proper crowd management measures in place. Haleem, a popular slow-cooked meat stew, is a cherished dish during the holy month of Ramadan. While the restaurant's intention to share a celebratory meal is commendable, the lack of planning for such a large turnout resulted in chaos.
