Central Railway’s Railway Protection Force (RPF) identified Shaikh from the earlier video that surfaced on social media on July 14th. The video, filmed on March 7th, showed Shaikh performing a high-risk stunt at Sewri station. On April 14th, while trying another dangerous stunt, Shaikh suffered severe injuries leading to the amputation of his left arm and leg. Due to his critical condition, he remains bedridden and has not been arrested.
Following the viral video posted on X (Twitter) on July 14th, showing a young boy engaging in risky behavior while boarding a moving train, Central Railway issued a stern warning against such dangerous stunts. The video prompted immediate action from railway authorities, and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Wadala Road registered a case against the unidentified individual seen in the footage.
According to media reports, the RPF successfully traced the individual to his home in Antop Hill, Wadala. Farhat Azam Shaikh admitted to committing the illegal stunt at Sewri Station on March 7th on a CSMT-bound train. He revealed that the act was recorded by a friend with the intention of uploading it on social media to gain likes.
The investigation began after the video went viral on July 14th. The Wadala RPF registered a case under relevant sections of the Railway Act and started investigating the matter. It was discovered that Shaikh had lost his left arm and leg during another stunt attempt on April 14th at Masjid station.
Central Railway has identified the stunt performer from this viral video, who later lost an arm and leg during another stunt. @RPFCRBB swiftly took action to ensure safety.
