51 people including 27 Gazan civilians killed in air strikes between Israel, Gaza-based militants

An Israel Defense Forces spokesperson told reporters at a briefing that the IDF believes 51 people were killed in Gaza during the most recent round of fighting, 24 of whom were members of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror organisation. The military claims their numbers are approximations. The military claims that 16 non-combatants were killed by Gazan rockets that missed their target.

According to the IDF, another 11 people who were not linked to terror organisations were killed, according to the report.

The Times of Israel reported citing the Israeli Defense Forces that a total of 27 people, including a number of children, were killed in the fighting as a result.

IDF spokesman Ran Kochav said that the military believes it killed 24 terrorists from the Islamic Jihad terror group.

“More Palestinians were killed by the failed firing by Islamic Jihad than by the firing of the IDF…Lessons will be learnt” Kochav said, in the wake of the killing of the 11 people not directly involved in the fighting,” the Times of Israel reported.
