Amid Skirmish India and China hold 17th round of Corps Commander level meeting

The 17th round of India-China Corps Commander level meeting took place on 20 December following the skirmish between Indian and Chinese troops in the Tawang area. The meeting took place on 20 December 2022 at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on the Chinese side. Many serious issues were discussed in the meeting. Top army officers of both the countries were present in this high level meeting. Both sides have agreed to remain in close contact and maintain dialogue through military and diplomatic channels.

17th Round of India-China Corps Commander level meeting was held on December 20, 2022

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Defense regarding this meeting, it has been said that the 17th round of India-China Corps Commander level meeting was held on December 20, 2022 at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on the Chinese side. Based on the progress made since the last meeting on July 17, 2022, the two sides discussed in an open and constructive manner the resolution of relevant issues along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the western sector.

They held open and in-depth discussions in line with the guidance given by the leaders of the two countries to work towards resolving the outstanding issues at the earliest, which would be helpful in restoring peace and stability along the Line of Actual Control in the western sector and bilateral Will enable progress in relations.

Meanwhile, both sides agreed to maintain security and stability on the ground in the western sector. Both sides agreed to remain in close contact and hold talks through military and diplomatic channels and mutually acceptable solutions to the remaining issues at the earliest.

Earlier on July 17, both the sides issued a joint statement after discussions. It was said in this statement that both the sides put forth their point of view openly and discussed with seriousness. Both sides had reiterated that they want peace on the LAC and have kept their point in it. Both the countries had said that talks would continue and these issues would be resolved through military and diplomatic talks. After this meeting, after the Tawang clash, this meeting has happened again between the two.
