Bangladesh: After Shraddha, a Hindu girl murdered and chopped into pieces by her lover

Bangladesh: In an another shocking incident, a Hindu girl from Bangladesh, Kavita Rani, was murdered off by her friend Abu Bakr. The murder of Shraddha Walkar, who was killed by Aaftab Ameen Poonawala on May 18 in Delhi after being strangled and cut into 35 pieces, bears uncanny resemblance to the this incident.

Abu Bakr was absent from work and his phone was unreachable on November 6. After not able to contact him, his senior in office sent someone to check on him but it was found that the house was already locked. The landlord called the police as he became increasingly concerned about Abu Bakr's disappearance.

Police found out a headless body

Police discovered a woman's headless body in a box when they arrived and unlocked the door. Her head was wrapped with polythene and kept apart. There were no hands. The victim was revealed to be Kalipad Bachar's daughter Kavita Rani.

Police arrested Abu Bakr and Sapna, his live-in partner, on November 7. According to a Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officer from Bangladesh, Abu Bakr and Sapna were living in the same house of the Gobarchaka Square neighbourhood for the previous four years.

Kavita had first met Abu just four days ago

Abu Bakr and Kavita recently become close, and after that, he savagely murdered and choppedher. The murder happened just five days after they first met.

While Sapna was out at work on November 5, Abu Bakr invited Kavita to his rented home. But when the two started arguing, Bakr became enraged and killed her by strangling her. He cut off her hands and threw them down a sewer after separating the head from the body. Before he left the scene, the body was placed into a box with the head kept covered in a plastic bag.

Abu confesses his crime

Additionally, the RAB representative disclosed that on the same evening, Abu Bakr and Sapna, his live-in partner, crossed the Rupsa river and headed for Dhaka. However, the police started a search after discovering Kavita Rani's death the following day in his rented home.

On the evening of November 6, police and RAB Intelligence tracked the accused Abu Bakr's location. After that, he and Sapna were taken into custody in the Chaurasta neighbourhood of the Basan police station in the Ghazipur district. However, abu Bakr has confessed that he committed the crime.
