Singer Britney Spears and her fiance Sam Asghari have lost their first baby due to miscarriage. The couple broke the sad news to their fans via Instagram. They announced their pregnancy loss to the world and shared that they’ll continue ‘trying to expand’ their family.
“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” the 40-year-old singer wrote in a joint-post with her partner Sam Asghari.
Spears had announced the pregnancy in an Instagram post on April 11, saying “So I got a pregnancy test and uhhhhh well I am having a baby.”
The pair also thanked fans and followers for their support. “We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment.”
Spears already has two teenage sons, Sean and Jayden, with her ex-husband, actor-singer Kevin Federline.
Spears announced her pregnancy over six months after a judge released her from a conservatorship arrangement that dominated her life for nearly 14 years. In June last year, the musician had told the judge that her conservatorship prevented her from marrying or removing her birth control.
