A meeting of G20 countries was organized at the time of completion of one year of Ukraine Russia War. Most countries showed solidarity. There were talks of dialogue on ways to resolve the war, but the China is adopting a crooked attitude on this issue.
According to sources, China is making every effort to put the Ukraine war issue on the backburner during this conference. Finance ministers of the G20 countries were trying to reach a consensus on a joint statement on the global economy during their talks in India on Saturday but they struggled, a New Indian Express report on the G20 summit said, quoting officials.
The sources said, China is trying to downplay any reference to the Ukraine war. At the talks between the world’s top 20 economies in Bengaluru, agreeing on a statement was proving “difficult” because of a “less constructive” approach by some unspecified countries, according to Spain’s representative Nadia Calvino. Officials told AFP news agency that China wanted to tone down the language of the G20 leaders’ statement from November, which said “the majority of members strongly condemned the war in Ukraine”.
