World leaders expressed their condolences after a tragic stampede at a Halloween celebration in Seoul on Saturday night resulted in 151 fatalities and 150 injuries. Thousands of people, largely young people and students, were celebrating Halloween in the capital's congested alleyways when the tragic crush occurred.
Assuring the bereaved country of India's sympathy, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar expressed his sorrow for the tragedy's victims and expressed his "deep shock" at the loss of young lives.
US Vice President Joe Biden expressed his sorrow over the lives lost and his wishes for the victims' quick recovery.
Rishi Sunak, the UK's recently-installed prime minister, also expressed his sorrow over the deadly crush on Twitter.
President Emmanuel Macron also expressed grief over the incident while assuring South Korea that France remained by its side. "A sincere concern this evening for the people of Seoul and all of Korea following the Itaewon tragedy. France is supporting you, "Using both French and Korean, the leader tweeted.

The victims of the crush were sent wishes for a quick recovery from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
In the meantime, Yoon Suk-yeol, the president of South Korea, has declared Sunday to be a day of national mourning.
