Donald Trump: US President Donald Trump has claimed that the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran had informally invited him to become the next Supreme Leader of Iran. The claims were vehemently denied by the Iranian leadership.
DON'T MISS
This is not the first instance where Trump has made absurd claims. In the past, the US President claimed USA is in talks for a ceasefire with Iran. Meanwhile, Tehran had then rejected those claims. Trump further claimed that he outrightly rejected the Supreme Leader’s position.
Donald Trump: Iran Desperately Want A Ceasefire
In another development, Trump claimed that the United States has already won over Iran. He also claimed that Iran desperately wants to have a ceasefire but many in their political leadership are scared that they would be killed by their own leadership if they even talk about a ceasefire with the United States of America.
Trump has asked for Iran to give up its nuclear program dreams while Tehran has asked USA to vacate all its bases in the Middle East. Tehran also wants USA to compensate it for the losses incurred in the ongoing Middle East war. The United States also wants Tehran to end its support for proxy groups like Lebanon’s Hezbollah. It also wants Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz without any condition while Iran wants $2 million for every passing shipment via the Strait.
Markets Sweat On Unrealistic Ceasefire Conditions
US benchmark slipped to $90.32, a fall of 2.2 percent while Brent Crude fell below $100 a barrel. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.2 percent while S&P 500 dropped 0.4 percent. The Nasdaq Composite Index slid 0.8 percent. This was after Donald Trump remarked that 3000 troops would head to the Middle East region from the Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division. Indian financial markets also went for a toss after the ongoing Middle East crisis deepened.
