Facebook: On Meta's Facebook, a number of users have been complaining that they have lost the majority of their followers for unidentified reasons. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta and the company's founder, has lost over 119 million followers, bringing his total to less than 10,000.
"Facebook created a tsunami that wiped away my almost 900,000 followers and left only 9000 something on the shore. I kind of like Facebook's comedy," exiled Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen tweeted.
We're aware that some people are seeing erratic follower counts on their Facebook profiles, a Meta spokesperson said in response to a query. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused and are working to quickly restore things to normal.

However, the glitch is expected to get resolved soon. Earlier, in a report it was stated that Meta could soon layoff over 12000 employees citing them as "unproductive". These kind of technical glitches happen quite a many times. Majority of widely used apps such as WhatsApp, Instagram are owned by Facebook, which too, quite frequently experience massive outage.
As per the Meta's statement, users will soon be able to see their followers count back.
