US Iran War: President Donald Trump issued a stark warning on social media, saying that “every time Iran kills an American Soldier they will pay for that killing many times over.” He said the directive had been passed on to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Joint Chiefs Chairman Daniel Caine, and every military leader.

The warning came after the death of three American service members over the weekend, two in Jordan and one in northern Iraq, along with a fourth set of unidentified remains recovered in Jordan. In total, 17 US troops have now died since the war reignited, with a dignified transfer of the fallen scheduled at Dover Air Force Base.
The US launched its tenth consecutive night of strikes on Iranian military command centres, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and air defence systems. Senior officials say Trump is expected to decide within days whether to widen the campaign into full-scale combat, a move that would be far more intense than the current strikes and could, for the first time, extend toward Tehran and Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Strait Of Hormuz Under Threat
US Iran War: Tensions have spilt into shipping lanes, with vessels struck by projectiles off the coasts of Oman and the UAE, and a tanker set ablaze in the Strait of Hormuz. The British military has urged ships to exercise caution while transiting the route.
The current standoff follows Trump’s announcement of “major combat operations” against Iran in February, and negotiations between the two countries in June that have failed to hold. With preparatory military deployments already underway in the region, the coming days are seen as pivotal in determining whether the conflict escalates into a broader war.
