Hindu Doctor Shot Dead in Karachi, Second Attack on Medical Professionals in Pakistan

Pakistan: Dr. Birbal Genani, a former ophthalmologist and director of the Karachi Municipal Corporation, was assassinated today close to the Lyari Expressway, according to the local media. Dr. Qurat-ul-Ain, his assistant, was hurt in the assault. Surveillance footage revealed that the two were riding in a car. It is believed that the attack was an instance of targeted killing based on the Surveillance evidence.

Second instance this month that a Hindu doctor has been attacked

This is the second instance this month that a Hindu doctor has been attacked in Pakistan. Dharam Dev Raathi, a doctor from Hyderabad, Pakistan, was allegedly murdered inside his home earlier this month by his driver. The doctor's throat was slashed by the driver, according to the authorities.

Doctor's chef reported to the police

Hanif Leghari, the driver, was apprehended by the police at his residence in Khairpur. The two got into a fight on their way home, the doctor's chef reported to the police. While inside his house, the driver allegedly killed the doctor there using a kitchen knife.
