Indian-American Teen arrested for attacking the US President by crashing a truck near the White House, video goes viral

US: A Missouri man has been detained by police after they suspect him of deliberately ramming a U-Haul truck into a security fence at a park across from the White House. Around 10 p.m. on Monday, the driver of the box truck crashed into a barrier close to Lafayette Square’s north side, according to a statement from the Secret Service. He was recognised as Sai Varshith Kandula, 19, of Chesterfield, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. In the collision, no one was hurt.

Suspect Emerges from Truck with Nazi Flag

After the collision, Park Police and Secret Service agents approached Kandula as he was exiting the truck holding a Nazi flag and shouting, according to two persons with knowledge of the situation who spoke to The Associated Press. According to the people, when questioned by detectives, Kandula declared his intention to overthrow the country and kill President Joe Biden. The individuals talked to the AP under the condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to publicly disclose specifics of the inquiry. According to the rental firm, Kandula had a legitimate contract in his own name when he hired the U-Haul vehicle in Herndon, Virginia.

U-Haul’s Age Requirement Raises Questions

According to U-Haul, you must be 18 to hire a truck, and there were no issues with his rental history that would have stopped the contract from being signed. Chris Zaboji, a witness, claimed that the motorist struck the barrier at least twice. Zaboji, a 25-year-old pilot from Washington, was wrapping off a run near Lafayette Square when he heard the U-Haul vehicle colliding with the barrier, which caused a loud boom. Before hearing the oncoming sirens, he claimed to have pulled out his phone and recorded the second time the truck hit the barrier. In the midst of widespread protests against policing following the assassination of George Floyd in Minneapolis, federal officials fenced off the area, forcing the park to close for almost a year. However, it reopened in May 2021. Based in Phoenix, U-Haul is a corporation that rents moving trucks, trailers, and self-storage units.
