Indian giant C 17 Globemaster carrying relief assistance for earthquake victims landed in Adana under ‘Operation Dost’. It landed with 13 tonnes of medical equipment for Turkey and 24 tonnes of assistance for Syrian quake hit victims. Consignment was received by Indian Ambassador to Turkey, Dr Virender Paul, Defense attaché Col Manuj Garg along with Turkish officials.

Relief Material such as ventilator machines, anesthesia machines and other equipment was received by Turkish Foreign Ministry represented by Ambassador Mehmet. Relief material was then handed over to 60 Para Field Hospital at Iskenderun, Turkey.
Sources have informed that around 400 patients are being treated every day by doctors of the Indian Army at Para Field Hospital.
Devastating Earthquake in Turkey, Syria
Over 28,000 people have been killed and several thousand injured or displaced by massive earthquakes that has devastated Turkey and Syria. The first earthquake, which occurred close to Gaziantep and the Syrian border, had a magnitude of 7.8. The second, happened nine hours later, had a Richter scale reading of 7.6. Search and rescue efforts have not stopped continuing unabated since the catastrophe rocked Turkey and Syria, where the earthquakes have wrought havoc.
