Iran Israel USA War: Pakistan’s Chief of Armed Forces is all set to take the country’s forces to fight against the Islamic Republic of Iran. This was after Asim Munir had a meeting with Khalid bin Salman, the Minister of Defence of Saudi Arabia.

Iran Israel USA War-Entry Of Pakistan To Middle East Crisis

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan had signed a pact last year under which both nations had promised to support each other if war is waged against another. Since several areas in Saudi Arabia have been attacked by Iranian forces, Pakistan is under an obligation to initiate a war with Iran.

A few days back, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar warned Iran against hitting Saudi Arabia, invoking the 2025 mutual defence pact that treats attacks on Riyadh as aggression against Islamabad.

Conflict Of Interest And Opinion

Interestingly, Pakistan Prime Minister had tweeted a post few days back in which he condemned the killing of former Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Shehbaz Sharif had written that the entire Pakistan is with Iran.

The decision by Munir is not likely to go well with Pakistanis. A day after Khamenei was killed by the joint forces of Israel and the United States, protests erupted in Pakistan killing 20-45 people. Outraged members of the Shia community in Pakistan targeted the consulates of the United States in Islamabad and Karachi.

Iran’s past support for Baloch rebels across the border heightens tensions, but Munir’s anti-Iran rhetoric post-strikes could rally separatists further.

Iranian President Apologizes To Middle East

In another development, the Iranian President has apologized to Middle East countries where Iranian forces or partners have attacked in the last few days. Masoud Pezeshkian remarked the Temporary Leadership Council approved that there should be no more attacks on neighbouring countries and no missile launches, unless an attack against Iran originates from those countries.
