Israel's largest aerial offensive in the Israel-Iran War just concluded: over 150 targets across Iran struck, including nuclear facilities in Natanz and Isfahan, military HQs in Tehran and Kermanshah - 78 dead, including senior IRGC officers & atomic scientists. Mossad-backed secret units were also said to have been involved in these strikes deep in Tehran.

Within hours, Iran had fired back, firing salvos of missiles and drones over central Israel. Some 200 rockets were fired, and many were intercepted by Iron Dome and U.S. Patriot/THAAD systems. Still, at least 3 civilians and 7 soldiers were killed or injured, with dozens hurt, and buildings damaged in Tel Aviv, Rishon LeZion, and the surrounding areas.
Iran has broken off its nuclear talks in Oman and declared diplomacy to be "meaningless" amid the hostilities. World leaders, including U.K. Prime Minister Starmer, Saudi Crown Prince bin Salman, and Pope Francis, have pushed for de-escalation.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization sharply condemned Israel's attacks, decrying the violations of international law.
Oil and gold prices surged, while some key airspaces in Iran, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria opened and closed intermittently, and some United Nations meetings were delayed.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz tweeted that if Iran persists in firing missiles at Israeli civilians, "Tehran will burn". Iran, on the other hand, threatened to target Western military assets in the region if they support Israel.
This bombardment today is a significant escalation of the Israel-Iran War -- the first time that Israeli jets have penetrated so far into Iran, and the first time that Iran has responded on this scale. Nuclear diplomacy is all but dead, civilian casualties are escalating, and regional tensions are running dangerously high. The world looks on as mutual threats of more bombing trump the de-escalation bid.
