The Early Warning Project is a research organization that identifies countries at risk of large-scale mass violence. The report cited violence by a local branch of the Taliban as one of the main challenges for Pakistan, which is already facing political and economic crises. Significantly, this report has come at a time when Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has withdrawn the ceasefire agreement with the government. In June, TTP had signed a ceasefire agreement with the government. As soon as this is over, TTP has ordered its fighters to carry out terrorist attacks across the country.

In a statement ending the ceasefire agreement, the banned organization said, “Since the Pakistan Army is carrying out military operations against the Mujahideen in various areas… it has now become necessary that TTP cadres can carry out attacks wherever they are across the country.”

The violent terrorist attacks of the Islamic organization TTP have increased for some time. Last month, six policemen were killed in a TTP terrorist attack in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Close to the Afghan Taliban and a local terrorist group of Pakistan, the TTP is listed as a foreign terrorist organization by the United States and the United Nations. According to UN estimates, it has 4,000 to 6,500 fighters in Afghanistan. TTP’s interference extends beyond the tribal areas to Pakistani cities. According to the Early Warning Project, by the end of 2021, the Taliban movement and related radical Islamic groups in Pakistan will commit mass killings.
