Indian Railways New Round-Trip Scheme Details
The News 24 channel shared this exclusive news on their official X handle today. The caption says that the railway will, from now on, provide a 20% discount on round-trip tickets. The Indian Railways has issued this notice on 8 August 2025, and these bookings following this package will open from 14 August.
This scheme will be applicable for onward journeys between 13 October and 26 October 2025. This is the time of Diwali and Chhath puja. The return journey bookings can be done for dates between 17 November and 1 December, 2025.
Objectives of This Scheme
The sole objective of this scheme is to extend the duration of booking. By doing this, much strain can be relieved from the days just before and after these festivals. Railway aims to avoid overcrowding and encourage a balanced booking for both onward and return journeys.
How Can You Avail This Scheme?
If you want to avail this scheme, you will first have to book your onward journey ticket on any of those specified days. Then you will have to book your return journey ticket using the connecting journey feature on the Indian Railways’ booking platforms.
To avail this rebate, both of your journey tickets should be confirmed. You will get the 20% discount on the base fare of your return journey ticket. This round-trip scheme is applicable to all classes of express trains except those under the flexi fare system.
