Russia-Ukraine War: On Saturday, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin condemned Russia of “deliberate cruelty” in its war in Ukraine, claiming that Moscow was deliberately attacking civilians.

“With deliberate cruelty, Russia is putting civilians and civilian targets in its gunsights,” Austin said at the Reagan National Defense Forum in Simi Valley, California.
“Russian attacks have left children dead, schools shattered, and hospitals smashed,” he claimed.

About Russia-Ukraine War

Russia is ultimately to hold accountable for what happened because it would not have happened if Russia had not participated in a heinous aggressive campaign against Ukraine.

He went on to explain that Nato had promised Ukraine, which is not a member of the alliance but receives significant military assistance, a “more modern air defence system.”

Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the United States’ ambassador to the United Nations, also asserted that Russia was ultimately to fault for the incident.
 “While we still don’t know all the facts, we do know one thing – this tragedy would never have happened but for Russia’s needless invasion of Ukraine and its recent missile assaults against Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure. The UN Charter is clear. Ukraine has every right to defend itself against this barrage,” she said during a UN Security Council meeting.

Meanwhile, despite a number of successful Ukrainian counteroffensives in the east and south, the senior US general has warned that an early military victory for Ukraine is unlikely.
