Beijing: The east wing of the inpatient department of a hospital in Beijing, the capital of China, caught fire on Tuesday, killing 21, according to the Beijing Daily. Following the rescue efforts, a total of 71 persons were evacuated and transferred.

The Beijing Daily stated that as of 6 p.m. (10:00 GMT), 21 people had passed away after being admitted to a hospital for treatment. According to the Beijing Daily, an emergency team arrived at the scene of the mishap in Beijing's Changfeng Hospital about 12:57 p.m. (0457 GMT) and put out the fire by 13:33 p.m.
