Ukrainian Sea Drone Targets Russian Oil Tanker in Black Sea, Crew of 11 Unharmed in Strike

Russia: According to reports, a Ukrainian maritime drone carrying 450 kg of explosives struck a Russian oil ship that was targeted in the Black Sea overnight. The 12-mile Kerch Bridge, which connects Russia and the Crimea that Moscow has occupied, experienced a momentary halt in traffic as a result of the attack.

Ukrainian Intelligence Sources Reveal Details of the Drone Attack on Russian Oil Ship

According to a Ukrainian intelligence source who spoke to Reuters, the tanker was hit while transporting fuel for the Russian military. The attack on the SIG ship was carried out in Ukrainian territorial waters by the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Navy. The Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport of Russia earlier posted on Telegram that the “The Sig tanker…suffered a hole in the engine room near the waterline on the starboard side, presumably as a result of a sea drone attack,” adding that none of the 11 crew members were hurt.

Battleship Destroyed, Major Russian Port Hit

The attack on Friday evening was the second daytime drone attack at sea. In a strike that highlighted Kyiv’s expanding naval capabilities as the Black Sea becomes a more crucial theatre of combat in the conflict, Ukraine claimed its sea drones also destroyed a battleship and hit a major Russian port on Friday.
