US Iran War: The US Iran War, which is going on currently, is once again facing an uncertain phase following Iran’s rejection of certain claims made by former US President Donald Trump about a possible ceasefire and peace deal.

Why Did Iran Reject Trump’s Claims?

Recent statements from Donald Trump suggested that significant progress had been made toward a peace deal, including discussions surrounding Iran’s nuclear activities and the reopening of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. However, Iranian officials quickly pushed back against these claims. Tehran described some of the statements as a “mix of truth and lies,” insisting that no final agreement has been reached and that several key issues remain unresolved.

The Strait of Hormuz Remains a Major Obstacle

One of the biggest roadblocks in the ceasefire discussions continues to be the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical energy routes. The United States wants unrestricted navigation through the waterway, while Iran has maintained that decisions regarding the strait must respect its sovereignty and regional interests.

Nuclear Program Still at the Center of Dispute

Another major challenge involves Iran’s nuclear activities. Washington continues to demand stronger guarantees that Iran will not develop nuclear weapons and wants tighter controls over enriched uranium stockpiles. Iran, on the other hand, insists that its nuclear program is intended for peaceful purposes and has resisted demands that it considers excessive or one-sided.

What Does Iran Want?

Iran has repeatedly emphasized that any long-term agreement must include the following:

  • Relief from economic sanctions
  • Guarantees against future military attacks
  • Respect for its national sovereignty
  • Broader regional security arrangements

Why Is the Ceasefire Facing Delays?

Although diplomatic channels remain open, both sides continue to disagree on core issues. The United States seeks stronger commitments on nuclear restrictions and maritime security, while Iran wants sanctions relief and long-term guarantees
