Following the backlash, Shiv Sena Hind’s National General Secretary Dipanshu Sood lodged a complaint with the police in Zirakpur, Mohali on July 20, claiming that Payal’s portrayal of Goddess Kali was inappropriate and hurt religious sentiments. In response, Payal visited the Kali Mata Temple in Patiala on Tuesday afternoon, accompanied by her husband Armaan Malik, to apologise.
Speaking to the media, Payal said, “Meri bacchi Kali Maa ki badi bhakt hai, isliye maine socha uske liye woh look recreate karu. Shayad mujhse badi galti ho gayi. Main sabhi se haath jod kar maafi maangti hoon. Jo maine kiya, koi aur woh galti na dohraye.” It\’s surpising as Payal mentioned her little kid as Goddess Kali\’s devotee to justfy her actions. Many users haven\’t liked it and feel that it is just a way to escape strict action.
