Disha Patani House Firing: ‘We Are Sanatanis, We Respect…’ Father Jagdish Patani On Attack Due To Premanand Controversy

Two men allegedly fired 8-10 rounds outside Bareilly house of Disha Patani, claiming it was revenge for her sister’s comment on spiritual gurus. The family is safe, and police are investigating while reviewing CCTV and social media claims.

Early Friday morning, two men on a bike allegedly opened fire outside the house of Bollywood actor Disha Patani in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Police confirmed the attack happened in the early hours, leaving the Patani family shocked but unharmed.

Soon after, a social media post claimed responsibility. Fugitive gangsters Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara said the attack was in retaliation for an “insult” towards spiritual gurus Premanand Ji Maharaj and Anirudh Acharya Ji Maharaj by Disha’s sister, Khushboo Patani. The post warned it was only a “trailer” for Bollywood actors who disrespect Hindu priests or deities and hinted that next time, the consequences could be deadly. Police are still checking if the post is authentic.

The post also criticised the film industry, stating in Hindi, “We can go to any extent to protect our religion. Religion and society come first, and defending them is our duty.” The gang accused the Patani family of insulting Sanatan Dharma and also warned other Bollywood actors.

Disha Patani House Firing: Here’s What Father Jagdish Patani Said

Speaking to ANI, Disha’s father, Jagdish Patani, a retired DSP, said about 8-10 rounds were fired. “Two unidentified assailants fired at my residence… Police are making all possible efforts… Bareilly Police, SSP, ADG are all working on it… The gunshots are not indigenous; they are foreign-made… I came to know through social media that Goldy Brar has taken its responsibility, but it is not clear yet…”

He also addressed the controversy over Khushboo’s comment. “Her name was dragged into the matter of Premanand Ji Maharaj. We are Sanatanis, we respect the sadhus and saints. If someone is misrepresenting her statement, it is a conspiracy to demean us…”

Investigation Underway, Family Safe

During the attack, Disha’s mother, Padma Patani, her father, and sister Khushboo were inside the house. The family was shaken by the gunfire but unharmed. Police recovered two empty cartridges outside and deployed security around the house.

CCTV footage is being examined, and five teams are working to catch the culprits. Authorities continue to investigate while keeping the public informed.
