Udta Teer Box Office Collection Day 7: Ayushmann Khurrana & Sara Ali Khan’s Detective Comedy collects ₹50 Crore Worldwide, 15% Ahead of Ayushmann’s Previous Release

Udta Teer, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, has earned ₹50 crore worldwide in week one, running 15% ahead of his previous film. Here is how the spy comedy performed.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s Udta Teer has finished its first week with ₹50 crore in worldwide collections. That puts it about 15% ahead of Ayushmann’s previous release. Here is how the film got there.

Udta Teer Week 1 Box Office at a Glance

The film is a debut for director Aakash Kaushik and is backed by Dharma Productions. It hit theatres on October 23. It opened at ₹4.10 crore net in India on Day 1. That was a modest start, and the film got mixed reviews.

How the Weekend Changed the Story

Word of mouth helped on Saturday. Collections jumped 76.8% on Day 2, to over ₹7 crore. Sunday was better still. The film earned Rs. 8.10 crore, taking its opening weekend total to Rs. 19.45 crore. Worldwide collections stood at ₹27.58 crore after three days.

The Monday Test

Weekday business is where a film proves itself. Udta Teer dropped about 60% on its first Monday. A drop like that is normal after a strong weekend. The film then kept collecting through the week and reached the ₹50 crore worldwide mark by Day 7.

What Is Udta Teer About?

It is a spy comedy with a funny twist. Ayushmann plays Bilal Ahmad, a Pakistani intelligence operative who loses his memory after an explosion. Sara Ali Khan plays a defence ministry finance official who is also his wife and colleague. Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Rahul Bose and Mukul Dev are in the supporting cast.

Why Being 15% Ahead Matters

Ayushmann and Sara last worked together on Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, which had an average run. Beating that film’s pace by 15% suggests Udta Teer is connecting with family audiences who enjoy light comedy with a bit of mystery. It is not Ayushmann’s biggest hit. Its opening ranked only eighth among his career openers. Still, a steady week gives the film room to grow.
