Shark Tank India 5 is once again grabbing attention with ideas that solve real problems. In the latest episode, a dairy-tech startup walked into the Tank with a powerful concern (milk adulteration in Indian homes). What followed was a pitch that left both the Sharks thinking twice about the milk they consume every day.
The founders introduced a simple paper-based testing card that can detect milk adulteration within minutes. The innovation stood out for its ease of use and low cost, making it suitable for everyday households.
Right at the start, the entrepreneurs made a bold claim. They told the Sharks, “India mein mil raha lagbhag sattar pratishat doodh zeher ban chuka hai. Yeh chemical aapke ghar aaye to aap isko pehchaanenge kaise. Paper Pro ke patented Milk Dilation testing card se chalis rupaye ka ek test.”
Shark Tank India 5: How the Milk Adulteration Testing Card Works
The startup’s product is a patented paper card that detects six common adulterants found in milk. These include salt, detergent, starch and soda (chemicals often added to increase quantity or shelf life).
According to the founders, the card shows results within seconds. Users only need to place a few drops of milk on the card and watch for a colour change. If the milk is adulterated, the card reacts instantly.
What impressed the Sharks was the product’s simplicity. Unlike expensive machines used in labs and dairies, this card is disposable, portable and easy to use at home. No technical skills are required. At just Rs 40 per test, it is an affordable option for families across India.
The founders explained that their goal is to make milk testing accessible to everyone, not just large dairy companies.
Did They Secure A Deal?
During the pitch, the entrepreneurs asked for Rs 1 crore in exchange for 1% equity, valuing the company at Rs 100 crore. While the valuation sparked discussion, the Sharks praised the innovation.
Sharks called it an “amazing innovation,” pointing out its ability to detect multiple adulterants instantly. The conversation then shifted to the wider issue of milk safety in India, especially for children and elderly people.
Although the final deal details have not been revealed yet, the pitch generated strong buzz online.
