Sadhvi Prem Baisa: Noted religious storyteller Sadhvi Prem Baisa died under mysterious circumstances on 28 January 2026 in Jodhpur. Her death sparked public outrage and demands for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The death of Sadhvi Prem Baisa has been associated with a year-long blackmail and defamation case. Many believe she was murdered after refusing to pay ₹20 lakh, not killed by a simple cough injection as initially claimed.
Sadhvi Prem Baisa-The Mysterious Death in Jodhpur
Sadhvi Prem Baisa, a well‑known kathavachak (religious storyteller) based at an ashram in Boranada, Jodhpur, was rushed to Preksha Multispeciality Hospital on the evening of 28 January. According to hospital director Dr Praveen Jain, she was brought dead by her father, Veeram Nath, and another aide.

Surprisingly, her family took the body from MDM Hospital before an official post-mortem by a medical board could be conducted.
The Shocking Cough Injection
For a few days, Sadhvi was keeping unwell with fever, common cold and flu-like symptoms for the last 2-3 days. A compounder was called to the ashram on the day of her death and he gave her an injection. After this, her condition worsened quickly and she became unconscious before collapsing. She was immediately rushed to a private hospital where she was declared brought dead. The compounder has been detained by police and his medical kit has been seized for investigation.
20 Lakh Demand, Then Blackmail
In July 2025, a viral video of Sadhvi where she was seen hugging her guru and father triggered a wave of online abuse, harassment and false allegations. Sadhvi offered to undergo a trial by fire (Agni pariskha to prove her innocence. Former staff members were accused of defamation and blackmail with many reports suggesting that ₹20 lakh was demanded from her to stop spreading damaging content.
Police Probe & Demands for CBI Inquiry
A case has now being registered by the Boranada Police. Police are now waiting for her post-mortem report to find the exact cause of her death – whether it was due to foul play, an undiagnosed health condition or the injection. A high-level probe has been demanded by political leader Hanuman Beniwal who also requested the Rajasthan Chief Minister and DGP to take notice.
