Delhi News: On Thursday, headlines across the state of Delhi shook the residents. It was claimed that more than 500 women were among 800 missing people in the state of Delhi in just the first 15 days of 2026.
It was claimed by social media handles that more than 807 people went missing in Delhi in the first 15 days of January 2026, averaging about 54 missing cases a day. It was also claimed that 509 of them were girls and women and 298 were men. The social media handles also claimed that 191 were minors.

The Delhi Police has now claimed that the reports of a massive surge in the missing people cases are misleading in nature. Delhi Police issued a stern warning to anyone who misleads people in the state for their paid movie promotional campaigns.

BJP IT cell chief Amit Malvya has remarked now that the claim that many children are going missing from Delhi is all about promoting a Hindi film. Malviya added that Delhi Police would be investigating the case and punish the culprits.
Though Malviya didn’t name any film, the video shared by him associated the reports to the Rani Mukerji-starrer Mardaani 3. The movie’s story revolves around cases of mass disappearances. The movie makers have not commented on these allegations till date; they have neither acknowledged or denied any PR attempt.
Milind Deora Echoes Claims
Rajya Sabha member Milind Deora made a post on X saying that he had a word with the Commissioner of Mumbai Police and he vehemently denied the claims of missing children.
Deora added that FIRs have been registered against the social media handles that have been propogating the false claims. Deora asked Delhi Police to take similar actions against those who are spreading false claims just to promote their movie.
