Top Method: Baking Soda Soak
Baking Soda is the best product for the removal of harmful pesticides. According to a Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry study, a teaspoon of baking soda per 2 cups of water solution is an excellent way to remove pesticides. Ideally, you should soak fruits in baking soda water for 15-20 minutes. This would help in peeling away 80-95 percent of surface pesticides such as thiabendazole from fruits.
You can even try out white vinegar to ward off harmful pesticides from fruits. To get started, you need to make a 1:3 vinegar-to-water mix and soak fruits for 15-20 minutes. This mix is also effective to tackle bacteria on fruits.
You can even try out Himalayan or sea salt water (10% solution, or 2 teaspoon per 4 cups of warm water). This helps in extracting DDT-like residues effectively. Fruits must be rinsed well post-soak.
