Mohan Yadav highlights Ladli Laxmi Yojana, push for girls’ education and financial support in MP

This ensures that the benefits reach economically weaker sections who need support the most.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has reiterated the state government’s commitment to empowering girls through the Ladli Laxmi Yojana, aimed at securing their future through education and financial assistance. The scheme is designed to strengthen the foundation of girls’ lives by promoting higher education and self-reliance.

Mohan Yadav: Financial support for higher education

Under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana, eligible girls receive an incentive of ₹25,000 upon admission to undergraduate or vocational courses. This financial support is intended to reduce the burden on families and encourage girls to pursue higher education without constraints.

State to bear education expenses

A key feature of the scheme is that the state government will bear the full tuition fee for higher education, ensuring that financial limitations do not hinder academic progress. The amount is disbursed in installments, particularly during the first and final years of the course, to support continuity in education.

Eligibility criteria defined

The scheme applies to girls born on or after January 1, 2006, whose parents are residents of Madhya Pradesh and are not income tax payers. This ensures that the benefits reach economically weaker sections who need support the most.

Focus on empowerment and self-reliance

Mohan Yadav emphasized that the initiative is not just about financial aid but about building confidence, independence, and long-term empowerment among girls. Education is being positioned as the key driver of change.

Encouraging social transformation

Officials believe that schemes like Ladli Laxmi Yojana play a crucial role in improving gender equality and changing societal attitudes toward girls’ education. Increased enrollment in higher education is expected to create a ripple effect across communities.
