Bhagwant Mann continued its statewide campaign against organized crime under the ongoing “Gangstran Te Vaar” initiative, carrying out extensive operations in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab. The latest crackdown involved targeted raids at identified and mapped locations linked to gangster networks and their associates across the state.

According to Punjab Police, a total of 515 raids were conducted during the operation as law enforcement agencies intensified efforts to dismantle criminal networks and curb gang-related activities. The coordinated action was carried out across multiple districts based on intelligence inputs and ongoing investigations.

Total Arrests Cross 37,000

During the drive, police apprehended 284 individuals, including five proclaimed offenders who had been evading arrest. Authorities also recovered six weapons during the raids, which officials said would aid ongoing investigations into criminal activities and illegal arms possession.

Punjab Police stated that the campaign has yielded significant results since its launch, with total arrests under the anti-gangster initiative reaching 37,216. The force noted that continuous enforcement operations, intelligence gathering, and inter-agency coordination remain central to its strategy for tackling organized crime.

Officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order across Punjab. Citizens have also been encouraged to assist law enforcement by sharing information related to criminal activities through the state’s Anti-Gangster Helpline, which allows anonymous reporting.

Punjab Police emphasized that sustained action against gangster networks will continue as part of the government’s broader efforts to create a safer environment and strengthen security throughout the state.
