A single display is easier to manage than two. The Pro Max’s battery life stays predictable no matter how you use the phone. The Duo’s battery life swings wildly depending on which screen you have open, and using the larger inner display, the one most people will buy a foldable for, cuts battery life by nearly a third.
Where The Duo Fights Back
Apple iPhone Duo Vs iPhone 18 Pro Max: If you mostly use the Duo’s smaller cover screen, it comes close to matching the Pro Max, and even edges past the standard 18 Pro. Charging speed also stays competitive, with both phones reaching 50 per cent charge in 15 to 20 minutes.
For raw, predictable battery life, the iPhone 18 Pro Max takes the crown. The Duo only comes close if you are willing to keep its big screen folded shut most of the time, which somewhat defeats the purpose of buying a foldable in the first place.
