BMW 2 Series M Performance edition to launch on September 9, can zip from 0-100kph in just 7.1 seconds

BMW 2 Series M Performance edition: The BMW 2 Series M Performance version will only receive minor visual improvements. The Black Sapphire colouring with contrasting silver accents on the grille, bumper, and wing mirrors will be offered for this limited edition vehicle. For safety, the 2 Series Gran Coupe comes standard with six airbags and seat belts for every passenger. Along with other M-specific components, it will also receive a M Performance grille and gear selection lever.

Know about the features and interior

A dual-tone black and beige interior will be available for the 220i M Performance variant. Two 10.25-inch screens, one for the infotainment touchscreen and the other for the digital instrument cluster, are anticipated to be included, in addition to a wireless charger, head-up display, rear view camera, and dual-zone climate control. Six airbags and seat belts for every passenger come standard on the 2 Series Gran Coupe for safety.

Know about the engine

The 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which has 179 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque, will power the 2 Series M Performance variant. It will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Its claimed 0-100kph time is 7.1 seconds.

What will be the price and rivals?

The prices for the M Performance edition will be revealed on September 7. The anticipated cost of 220i M Sport and 220i M Sport Pro are Rs 43.50 lakh and Rs 45.50 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom, India). The Mercedes-Benz A-Class limousine (Rs 45.80 lakh, ex-showroom, in India) competes with the 2 Series Gran Coupe.
