Hyundai i20: Price hike announced for cars equipped with engines that meet the RDE regulations and BS-VI Phase 2 requirements, details here

Hyundai i20: One of Hyundai Motor’s well-known hatchbacks, the i20, has seen yet another price rise. For the second time in the past month, the business has raised the price of the Hyundai i20. When the price increase was announced by the Korean automaker earlier this month, the base model of the i20 hatchback is now more expensive once more as a result of the price increase. With a price increase of around 6%, you will now need to spend at least Rs 7.46 lakh (ex-showroom) to get the i20.

Hyundai raised the cost of the i20 models earlier this month by up to Rs 15,900. The choice was made after the automaker revised its lineup to comply with the new emission standards beginning on April 1. Hyundai had only preserved the petrol version of the i20 and had deleted the diesel version. A BS-VI Phase 2 compliant engine was recently added to the i20 petrol model.

Know about the variant wise price hike

The price increase has reportedly affected nine variations in the Magna (Magna), Sportz (Sportz), and Asta (Asta) trims, according to the updated price list. The Magna manual version saw the largest price increase, increasing by about Rs 43,000. The Sportz variation, which is available in manual, automatic, and dual tone versions, has had the least price increase, rising from Rs 14,600 to Rs 16,400. The cost of Asta and Asta (O) variations has also gone up.

Hyundai i20: Know about engine and performance

Both a 1.2-liter normally aspirated and a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine are available for the Hyundai i20. These engines now meet the RDE regulations and BS-VI Phase 2 requirements. The 1.2-liter engine produces a maximum torque of 115 Nm and 82 horsepower. While the 1.0-liter turbocharged engine produces a maximum torque of 172 Nm and 118 horsepower. For the 1.2-liter model, there is a 5-speed manual transmission option, and for the turbo-petrol, there is a CVT and a 7-speed DCT. There is also an N-Line version of the Hyundai i20 available. The Korean automaker’s first N-Line-badged vehicle to be introduced in India is this one.
