Mercedes Benz SUVs: GLA and GLB variants with sportier looks and powerful engines unveiled, all you need to know about their features and specs

Mercedes Benz SUVs: German automaker Mercedes-Benz has introduced its GLA and GLB SUVs in a new configuration for the global market. Both of these SUVs are getting mechanical updates, as well as new styling and features. These updated GLA and GLB SUVs are slated to arrive in India by the end of 2023.

Know about the upgraded design

Externally, these SUVs have a signature grille, bumpers, and headlamps. Both the SUVs now receive standard LED headlights and wheel arches matching the outside colour of the automobile. Along with this, an AMG line has also been offered in which an aggressive bumper design, flat bottom sporty steering wheel, AMG insignia all around and huge alloy wheels have been given.

Mercedes Benz SUVs: New interior

When it comes to the interiors of these vehicles, the layout of the dashboard has not changed significantly. The 10.25-inch twin screen for infotainment and instrument cluster now has wireless connectivity and an updated UI for infotainment. Both SUVs come standard with more comfy seats, a leather steering wheel, high-beam assist, and a reversing camera. A heated steering wheel is also available in AMG line models.

With mild hybrid technology

Both SUVs are now offered with both plug-in and mild-hybrid powertrains. The mild-hybrid engine is powered by a belt-driven starter-generator and a 48V battery. According to the business, it will now have 10hp greater power. The plug-in hybrid model can currently travel more than 60 kilometres. It now features a battery pack with a capacity of 22kW.

Mercedes Benz SUVs: What about the price?

Both of these SUVs are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 305 Bhp. According to the firm, this Vehicle can hit 0-100 speed in under 5.2 seconds. This automobile has a top speed of 250 kmph. The GLA and GLB are available in India with 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engines. The petrol engine is linked to a 7-speed DCT, while the diesel engine is mated to an 8-speed DCT. The GLA ex-showroom price in India starts at Rs. 46.48 lakhs, while the GLB ex-showroom price starts at Rs. 63.80 lakhs.
