Yamaha GT150 Fazer: New 150cc classic bike launched in China for 13400 Yuan (Rs 1.6L), all we know

Yamaha GT150 Fazer: In the realm of bikes, the traditional retro style is reemerging. In essence, it has a timeless design that appeals to people of all ages. Yamaha has introduced the GT150 Fazer in China in light of this. The starting retail price is 13,390 yuan, or around Rs 1.60 lakh. A sizeable portion of the gear and accessories used by the Yamaha GT150 Fazer are taken from other 150cc bikes like the FZ15, Fazer 150, and Crosser 150.

All about Yamaha GT150 Fazer

The beautiful form of the Yamaha GT150 Fazer is appealing to the eye. The bike is available in the colours white, dark grey, light grey, and blue and has a welcoming vibe. The lower portion of the bike is largely blacked out in all colour variations. It covers the front and back suspension, engine, exhaust, fenders, and alloy rims and wheels. The turn signals, rearview mirrors, and round headlamps are a few of the iconic retro features. All-LED lighting, a 12V DC charging port, fork gaiters, a fuel tank with a teardrop shape, a tan leather seat with a quilted pattern, and side panels in the tracker design are other highlights. The motorcycle sports a circular, fully digital instrument panel that shows a variety of data.

The Yamaha GT150 Fazer checks all the necessary boxes for daily journeys. Its thin profile will be helpful in navigating dense traffic. The 800 mm seat height should ensure simple handling and manoeuvrability. The bike appears to be suitable for two adults and has a long seat. There isn’t a grab rail, though. It might be provided as an add-on. With the footpegs positioned in the centre and the handlebar pulled back and lifted, users may anticipate maximum comfort. The bike is primarily intended for city commuting, but it also appears to be able to handle some little off-roading. Off-road conditions will benefit from features like dual-purpose block pattern tyres and handlebar braces.

Performance, specifications and launch in India

The 149cc engine powering the Yamaha GT150 Fazer shares the same bore and stroke dimensions as the FZ15, Fazer 150, and Crosser 150. The air-cooled, two-valve, SOHC motor produces 12.4 Nm of maximum torque and 12.3 hp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm. It is coupled to a 5-speed transmission.

Telescopic front forks and dual rear suspension are used on the New Yamaha 150cc Classic to provide suspension. The bike’s front and rear 18-inch wheels are fitted with 90/90 and 100/80 tyres, respectively. Disc brakes are used for braking at both ends. The bike weighs 126 kg and has a 1,330 mm wheelbase. A 12.5-litre petrol tank is on board.

Yamaha GT150 Fazer appears like a good candidate to be brought here given the growing popularity of classic bikes in India. But it’s unclear whether and when the GT150 Fazer will be introduced in India. Yamaha India sells the retro-styled FZ-X, however, it doesn’t have the same exquisite appearance as the GT150 Fazer. Launching the GT150 Fazer in India shouldn’t be too difficult because Yamaha already has the 150cc platform there.
