Honda XR150L vs Hero Xpulse 200 4V: Two of the best bikes compared in depth to help you make an informed decision, read before you make up your mind

Honda XR150L vs Hero Xpulse 200 4V: The Honda XR150L is a small adventure motorcycle that was just released in a few international markets. As appealing as this package is, there aren’t many chances that it will make it to the Indian market. The Hero Xpulse 200 4V is the only small ADV we have in India right now. But if the XR150L ever makes it to India, the Xpulse will be a close competitor in terms of what it is used for and how it looks. While we wait for that to happen, let’s look at both of them on paper and see which one is better.

Both bikes are made to look like a typical adventure motorcycle, with a tall, upright stance and few body panels. But there are some differences between them. The fuel tank extensions and tail on the XR150L, for example, are sharper and give the bike a more angular look. On the other hand, the Xpulse has a round headlight, a bigger fuel tank, and a short tail. The Xpulse also has fancier graphics than the XR, which only has simple stickers.

When it comes to features, the XR150L is much more out of date. It has an analogue instrument cluster and old-fashioned headlamps and turn signals. The Xpulse, on the other hand, has a fully digital console that connects to Bluetooth for turn-by-turn navigation and smartphone alerts. It also has a USB charger and a headlamp with all LEDs.

Both bikes have a five-speed gearbox

The Xpulse 200 is powered by a larger, oil-cooled 199.6cc engine that makes 18.8bhp and 17.35Nm. Handicap in terms of displacement, the XR is powered by a smaller, air-cooled 150cc engine that makes 12bhp and 12.5Nm of peak torque. Both bikes have a five-speed gearbox for getting from one place to another. Even though the XR’s engine isn’t as good as the Xpulse’s, it weighs only 129kg, which is 29kg less than the Xpulse.

The Xpulse 200 has 21-18-inch spoke wheels, which are bigger than the 19-17-inch wheels on the Honda. But the second one has 25mm more ground clearance, which should help it handle different terrains better. In the Xpulse, the brakes are made up of two discs instead of a disc and a drum like in the XR.

Price of Honda XR150L and Hero Xpulse 200 4V

The Hero Xpulse 200 4V costs Rs 1,37,496 in India (ex-showroom, Delhi). If we look at how much the Honda XR150L costs in the US, we find that it costs $2971, which is about Rs 2.43 lakh. If Honda decides to bring the XR to India in the future, we hope it will be on the cheaper end of the price range.
