How the company came to the electric vehicles?
Hero Electric began with the Munjal brothers creating Hero Cycles in Ludhiana in 1956, followed by Hero MotoCorp in 1984. After dominating the ICE two-wheeler market for almost two decades, the Hero Group ventured into electric cars with the 2007 debut of Hero Electric. Hero Electric has been the industry leader in the EV 2-wheeler area since then, grabbing about 65 percent of the market share in 2021 and selling over 50,000 electric 2-wheelers the year before. The firm claims to have over 400,000 clients to date.
To compete with others company is coming with new Hero Electric Scooters
Even now, despite intense competition from the likes of Ola, TVS, and Ather, Hero Electric remains one of the largest brands in the EV 2-wheeler field, albeit their market share appears to have dipped slightly. Hero Electric now offers a good portfolio that includes four high-speed electric scooters like the Photon and the Optima, as well as two slow-speed (>25kmph) products like the Eddy and Atria. The Velocity electric cycle (not to be confused with Hero Cycles' e-bikes) is also available from Hero Electric. Hero Electric displayed a variety of futuristic concepts at Auto Expo 2020, including a tilting 3-wheeled scooter and the company's first effort at an electric motorbike, the AE-47.
