Hero MotoCorp India: According to a senior company official, Hero MotoCorp, a manufacturer of two-wheelers, plans to increase the selection of electric two-wheelers over the next 18 to 24 months in order to meet demand from various customer segments.
Before rolling out the new products, the company, which has already started selling its electric scooters under the Vida brand in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Jaipur, plans to introduce the current range in additional cities during the upcoming fiscal year.
"With the launch in three cities, including Delhi, Bengaluru, and Jaipur, where consumers are really embracing the product and the overall sales and pre-sales experience. In order to establish a larger presence in the market going into FY24, we are really prepared to expand into many cities "said Swadesh Srivastava, Head of Hero MotoCorp's Emerging Mobility Business Unit (EMBU).
In October of last year, Hero MotoCorp introduced the VIDA V1 electric scooter in two variations: Pro and Plus. The company, which competes with brands like Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ather Energy, Hero Electric, and Ola Electric, manufactures the electric scooter at its Chittoor-based plant in Andhra Pradesh.

The new brand has been successfully established in the market, according to Srivastava, and it is now time to expand into much wider markets the following year.
The Vida V1 product will experience a much wider nationwide expansion next year (fiscal), he said. "We are already launching in a few more cities within this quarter," he added.
In the nation, the market for electric two-wheelers has grown incredibly. According to FADA, sales of electric two-wheelers reached 6,28,671 units in 2018, a fourfold increase from 1,55,422 units in 2021.
